“Left neoliberal” makes as much sense as “Left fascist”

While a lot of economists want to engage in ‘how many angels can dance on the head of a pin’ type arguments about all these slightly different flavors of neoliberal/libertarian/austrian economics, they all have in common that they don’t have any power.

The tiny minority have the power to practice neoliberalism, and the rest talk.

Hell, the Nationalist-Socialists started out with some socialist ideals (old age pensions and health insurance, very lefty ideas in the 1920’s) but that got discarded like the window dressing it was as they gained power.

The rich and powerful fund institutes to provide that window dressing.  Doesn’t sound very ‘left’ to me.

Sounds like bandwaggoning.  Or the old ‘both sides do it’.  Or DLC Democrats.  Or ‘rebranding’.  Or Capitalism 4.0.

What it doesn’t sound like is good news for us little people.
